---You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism. ~Erma Bombeck---
I am home today with the littlest. He's running a fever. So everyone else is out at church and the festivities afterwards. Maybe he will feel better tonight for a little bit of firework fun.
The house is coming along. We are almost ready for electrical and plumbing inspections...then we can sheetrock. Well, we can have it done for us! This is one of those few projects that we are not doing ourselves. Evidently, wheat is a binder in sheetrock and we figure the last thing Scar needs is to sit around and breath the sheetrock dust. No reason to chance making him sick.
We found out that even breathing it in can cause problems for him...like the time we drove to Daddy and Momma's only to find Daddy in the back field on the tractor...cutting the wheat field. Well, within in 24 hours Scar had a bad tummy ache. So, now we know.
We have had a busy summer so far. We went to Gatlinburg, Tennessee the beginning of June. We hiked and picnicked and geocached and swam and shopped. We had a great time! We have swam almost everyday so far and I don't see that stopping anytime soon.
We are taking the boys to Washington DC the end of this month. We are all excited! We are making a stop at he Boy Scout Nation Jamboree for a day. We got the boys each a National Park Passport while we were in the Smokeys and our goal is to get to all the National parks and get our passports stamped! It is a huge undertaking but it will be fun trying to get it all done!
I will wrap it up for now and I will leave you with a visual....
Scar busted his lip and bloodied his nose the other day. He was wearing a blindfold and running thru the yard and then ran into a tree....go figure. Dad sent me a comic the next day...I swear it was written for my boys!!
